Noise at Work Regulations
High noise exposure in the workplace is covered by the Physical
Agents (Noise) Directive 2003/10/EC. With regard to noise measurement,
you can read our explanation at:
Noise at Work Regulations |
 |
The European regulations and the HSE's guidelines explain the type of
sound level meter or noise dosemeter that should be used. You can see
our recommendations in the article Choosing a Meter below.
HSE Publications
Choosing a Meter
For Noise at Work assessments, we would recommend one of the following
meters:
- CEL620A2 Class 2 Integrating Sound Level Meter
- Measures
both LAeq and LCPeak as required
- Can easily be upgraded in
future
- dBadge Noise Dosemeter
- Mounts on the worker's
shoulder
- Measures noise exposure throughout the working day
Selecting
the correct meter is essential in meeting the regulations and
the HSE's guidelines. Both of the above meters meet these requirements
and also meet the relevant international sound level meter
standards. |
